Camp Open House

Join us on Monday, May 24 from 6-8 pm in the Brown Education Center for our camp open house!  Pick-up your t-shirts, drop off immunization records, get answers to questions, and meet Zoo staff.  Important information regarding check-in, parking, and other logistics will be reviewed.

Friends or Relatives in Camp?

All camps have multiple sections.  Requests to pair relatives or friends together in camp must be made in writing at least 1 week in advance to the start date of the camp.  Due to the large volume of participants, roster changes will NOT be made at any time during camp, including Monday morning check-in.  Children must be the same age and registered for the same camp.  Requests are not guaranteed, and no exceptions to class sizes will be made.  Please send all requests to education@houstonzoo.org.

Parking Information
The parking lots in Hermann Park are managed and maintained by the City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department and as such, we are unable to reserve spaces for our camp participants.  We understand parking can be difficult, especially in the afternoon when the Zoo is crowded.  However, for the safety of our camp participants, we require students to be physically signed in and out of their classrooms each day.  Please do not park in the handicapped spaces or loading zones along the curb unless you have a permit.  The Houston Zoo is not responsible for fines received.

Tips to Remember!

Doctor or dentist appointments should be scheduled outside of camp hours to avoid disrupting camp.

Late arrivals or children departing early disrupts camp and causes staff to be pulled away from programming.  Please make every effort to respect the camp schedule.

Please do not bring snacks for your child's class (such as birthday cupcakes).  Due to dietary restrictions we are unable to allow these snacks to be shared with a group.
