The Individual Giving program at Houston Zoo is synonymous with its daily operational budget. The Zoo’s educational services, maintenance, conservation programs – virtually everything inside the Zoo’s 55 acres – is underwritten by the generous gifts made by members of the community. For example, every single day, on average, the Zoo will spend $1,930 on animal diets, $2,313 for animal veterinary care, and $12,160 for husbandry staffing and programs. Maintaining quality animal care and providing unique guest experiences is the Zoo’s number one priority, and every single gift helps make that possible.
The Houston Zoo is extremely committed to its donors and seeks to help individuals and families reach their philanthropic goals through their involvement with the Zoo. Opportunities to help the Zoo are abundant…Buy a brick for the Zoo’s Front Entry. Purchase a Carousel Animal for your loved one. Give to the Annual Fund Drive to support animal enrichment. Join the Asante Society and receive behind-the-scenes experiences. Sponsor a Zoo exhibit. Your generosity brings nature to the public, and allows people to carry forward a greater understanding of the natural world.
