The Kipp Aquarium’s twenty-three exhibits take the visitor on a world tour from the coral reefs of the Pacific to the Amazon Basin and the Rift Valley Lakes of Africa. Exhibit highlights include Australia’s unique and rare duo of the Weedy Seadragon and Australian Lungfish, come see the many armed Giant Pacific Octopus, the King Piranha and the Venomous Lionfish.
Comprising over 23 aquatic habitats over twenty-six thousand gallons of water, the Kipp Aquarium is home to over 200 species and 2,000 specimens of fresh and salt water fish and marine invertebrates (jellyfish, cuttlefish, corals, and more). Some of the highlights of a visit to our Aquarium are the 7,000 gallon South American flooded forest, the unique weedy sea dragons, and the colorful but carnivorous piranhas. Pause and watch the beautiful and graceful moon jellyfish as they float in slow motion and see the 4,000 gallon coral reef exhibit where living coral color the rocks in varying hues. Cool and peaceful in the summer, the Kipp Aquarium is one of the Zoo’s most popular exhibits.
You will also find fish in the ponds, streams, and moats throughout the Zoo. Some are “volunteers” who appear naturally in bodies of water in the area; others are koi and various species of gold fish here to provide you with the color and quiet enjoyment that fish add to any body of water.
